Officially announced as WH new manager this morning.

He was never on the list to begin with.

That would make for some interesting round table transfer discussions.

It would certainly lance a lot of boiled piss if we appointed The Woke One.

Quite.

It would be worth it to see some gammon's explode.

Reads like an as yet unscripted Monty Python scene  Big Grin .

Looks like down to the last 2;

West Brom narrow search for vacant manager job
Latest from Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas and Rob Dorsett:

Rene Hake and Raphael Wicky are both in the running for the West Brom job.

Albion are thought to be down to the final few candidates as they assess Carlos Corberan's potential successor.

Dutchman Hake was assistant to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, while Wicky won the Swiss double with Young Boys in 2023.

John Eustace - the Blackburn boss - is thought to no longer be in the running.

The odds on Urs Fischer - who also twice won the Swiss Super League and was last in charge of Union Berlin - shortened on Wednesday but have since drifted again.

Gutted about Fischer but Wicky out of those two.

We don't know for sure that Fischer has even been interviewed, it's just been odds speculating and clickbait - I believe Wicky and Hake are the only ones we've heard reputable journos mention unless I've missed something.

Wicky sounds like an interesting and positive appointment, and the lack of reporting on the Dutch league means it's impossible to really know what to expect should it be Hake.

We do seem to have a template preference for a coach-first manager with a history of using youth and developing players, and playing a style of pressing, attacking, football.

Hard to get sad about a manager barely anyone knows about not getting a job we don't even know ? f they got an interview for.

Any of the 3 getting the job is a risk, pretty much all unknown outside of some backwater leagues, but you never know.
