If Labour and the Tories don't up their game well have similar here in 4 years or so with Farage.
Thing is Jacko, you may well be right. A couple of lads at work , decent, not stupid, log onto an internet `News Forum`, the news they don`t want you to know etc, etc and believe it. No trust in the normal stuff.
The regular parties, whether you vote Labour, Conservative, Liberal or whatever, do need to do better.
I remember when Trump got elected in 2016, I had been on a night shift, hearing news on the radio, I got home, and stayed up until 10.30 / 11.00 A.M watching news channels. Laura Kuennsberg and Andrew Neill were in Washington, interviewing U.S. journalists / writers / the odd Congressman etc, at one point, Neill told one of them, `Trump won because Clinton fought an awful campaign, she hardly campaigned in some states because she just assumed they would vote for her`.

Whether or not you agree with their reasons why, there's a lot of pissed off people both sides of the pond getting more pissed off every day. Beware the people that regard themselves as nothing to lose

I think that was one of Trumps appeals in 2016, the Clintons, the Bushes, Obama etc, what have they done for places like West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama etc.

At our last election the Tories were so hated that Labour didn't even have to make any effort and promises to beat them. The Tories shindigs won't be forgotten in 4 years and Labour are hardly endearing themselves to many people ATM. It won't take an exceptional candidate to persuade people to try something new. The Yanks don't have this option. Even if the Dems win it'll only be by a small margin and they'll now that a better Rep candidate would piss all over them next time. The fact that a tool like Trump can get nigh on half the votes is disgraceful and embarrasing

You really think that a sizeable population of the UK has ‘nothing to lose’? With less than 5% unemployment do you think that the majority of the population (or even the third needed to get into power) are going to fall for Farage’s bullshit after how Brexit turned out. The immigration bullshit can easily be countered now there is a party that isn’t worried about losing votes over it.

But for all the reasons the country lost faith in the Tories, as many will lose faith in Labour's economic management. There is a whole group of people under the age of 30 (will be 35 at the next election) who have never experienced a Labour Government. Their view of the world at the next election will be interesting.

fucks sake Chunk, you really are determined to pant wet your way through the next 5 years aren't you. Take a look back at previous incoming governments, there's always a shit budget to start which will be gifted back over the next few years. Measuring on todays feelings by reading a hostile press and AI bots all over the place will not give you are definite prediction of 5 years time.

The last Labour government leaving debt at 11% of GDP gives you a clue - as does the OBR report if you read it properly.

It's the stuff being kept hidden from the population that will be the issues not a load of nonsense spread across social media. Bots haven't hit the streets yet. Its pretty shitty out there in a lot of areas

What sort of parallel universe are we living in that this reptile can even have a chance of being elected as the most powerful person in the Western world?
Just as a light aside, this self proclaimed heterosexual macho man has, in the last few weeks, waxed lyrical about the size of Arnold Palmer's penis, adopted YMCA as his theme music and now simulates giving a blow job to an imaginary male. Is he trying to tell us something?
