Harris is ahead in quite a few of the swing states. I watched it all last night (this morning) and she wiped the floor with him. The phrase she used that summed him up was rhetoric. That's all he has.

Agree with your view but unfortunately it's not 'all he has'.
The real danger lies not with Trump as such but in the support he receives, from the Murdoch media empire, the unholy alliance with Musk, his obeisance to Putin, and the cult like status he has with a section of the electorate. He has successfully reduced political discourse to the lowest possible level and created a culture of non-accounability and total disregard for facts.
That said I believe Harris will beat him.

You've summed it up better than I have! I do think the electorate are starting to see through him, but it will be close. I don't think Harris is by any means a good candidate, but is a better alternative.

I've seen clips here and there this morning. It's bewildering that anyone could think Trump has the credentials to get back in power.

I think he was first elected on a wave of patriotism. Despite shouting MAGA, the voting public have now seen through him.

SOME have seen through him but I always think that 50% of the electorate are completely barmy and always vote for nutters ,guns and xenophobia.

Twitter is quite a thing today. It is simply that no matter what Trump does, he can cause riots, be convicted of fraud, sexually assault women, or, in the case of last night, talk complete moronic shite, there are millions of very strange Americans who will back him to the hilt.

However, what gets overlooked is there are those who will vote for him not because they are enchanted by his cult, but simply don't like the way America is heading under the Democrats.

It's a much more conservative country and there will be many who vote for him just because he's standing up for what they believe is the American way of life.

It's a sad state.
