Bingo. We also can't compete with teams making signings like this, the Giles deal includes a £4.25m fee in the summer. We're miles away from being able to offer terms like that at present.
They got £20m for selling Potter not too long ago. That rather helps!
Hull’s academy is doing the business, they’re far from Cat 1 standard I believe, but they’ve been consistently churning out first teamers and selling them for big fees.
Bowen 3 years ago, Lewis-Potter 18 months ago and they’ll get decent money for Greaves if they don’t make it up soon.
