Bartley would be a big loss on the pitch, but his wages are amongst the highest in the squad, so moving him on would be a bonus for the cash flow.

It doesn’t matter what the teams around us do in January, our away form is our biggest threat to our playoff chances

Bingo. We also can't compete with teams making signings like this, the Giles deal includes a £4.25m fee in the summer. We're miles away from being able to offer terms like that at present.
It's a gamble on Hull's part. Big fee players come with commensurate salary and signing on fees. Should they not get promotion, then I find it difficult to see how this would not impact on their sustainability.

They got £20m for selling Potter not too long ago. That rather helps!

Hull’s academy is doing the business, they’re far from Cat 1 standard I believe, but they’ve been consistently churning out first teamers and selling them for big fees.

Bowen 3 years ago, Lewis-Potter 18 months ago and they’ll get decent money for Greaves if they don’t make it up soon.

Only just saw this (now deleted my thread).

Not sure how I feel to be honest. Probably for the best if he goes but he's been solid the last few months.

Mikey Johnston, loan deal with Celtic.

A winger that can also play as a number 10.

1 benefit of that would be he could play Sunday I assume where as most prem loans will be cup tied

Given the likely list of absences on Sunday it would help

Apparently Norwich all over him too - which pretty much scuppers our chances if it comes to a wages amount war Wink

E&S reporting Johnston is one we are keen on plus one more - centre mid.

Surprised we are looking at another winger, think we are well stocked there and would rather a left back as a higher priority than another winger
