Griffiths

Think we have to be realistic in our expectations. Anything above £5m plus add on/sell on clauses would be acceptable, though the more upfront the merrier. It appears Newcastle are interested, mainly due to Dashworth's opinion of Griffiths. Not heard of any other intrerest that would help drive the price up. When you're market comprises of one main club then trying to get what you want and what is offered may well be miles apart.

We can't get rinsed again like with Dara.

In what world is this a thing?

Trafford had been in loan at Bolton for 2 seasons. Is the under-21 England keeper and played for Manchester City who rated him highly.

Griffiths has also spent time on loan, somewhat less successfully, is back up keeper for U-21s, is second choice at a championship club.

£6-8m would be exceptional, with a 20% sell on clause.

Trafford went for £15m plus add-ons, Griffiths has played more games and at a higher level. Bazunu went for £12m. I hardly think asking for £10m for Griffiths is outlandish.

Agreed - surely these are good benchmarks, why would anyone think differently?

They were at Man City so they can ask for whatever they want. We are a Championship club that needs the money.

Would be very Albion to sell both Griffiths and Palmer and end up with Willow the Wisp in goal.

For the third time this year RS is correct!

Fee will be just north of £5m with add ons, alas this is WBA were talking about and our financial desperation is well documented

I've no issue with that fee personally, as long as a sizeable sell on clause is included should he go on and fulfill his potential

I know our finances are a mess but you’d hope this and Grady will give us some breathing space

Griffiths has more experience than Trafford and has played at a higher level than Trafford who has no experience above League One level. £14m is an astounding fee for a player who has never featured even at Championship level.

I assume you subscribe to the view that as he came through the Man City ranks he will turn out to be a real world beater. It's such a view that helped Liverpool and Man Utd sell some extremely average players for hugely inflated fees in the past.

I'm not saying Trafford won't be a good player but there is no proof so far that he is that much better than Griffiths in my opinion.

We're gonna need to bring someone else in as number 2 keeper if this happens
