It's The Ashes (again)

England took 3 quick wickets. Then Smith and Head looked like they'd steadied the ship.
Woakes and Ali then rolled them over.
Broady finished it off

Ashes not won!!!..
Facts are England could not beat both India or Australia at home in five test series.
All that in the past know if England beat India in India this winter will make them the number 1 test playing nation!!.

Stay off the sherry!
Think it will be a very well fought series and England have the ability to severely test India. Home advantage make India slight favourites.

What a fantastic series. My favourite for a very long time. Loads of controversy, some real quality crickets played and plenty of drama.

Hope Stokes and Baz keep the ship steady and keep working on ways to creatively affect test games and keep striving to sustain the run rate we've batted at.

Fact, Australia won by 2 wickets and again by 42 runs.
England won by 3 wickets and again by 48 runs.
The other test was rained off to prevent a certain England win.
The series was close but England were definitely better. They went into the series undercooked after a knockabout v Ireland while the Aussies played a big game against India. Once again, poor preparation cost us. An amazing series full of twists and turns. Roll on India next Feb, it won't be dull.

I'm not a big cricketing fan, but after the last few years of being bummed by then this feels like a pyrrich victory at least.

Superb series and a tainted retention of the urn for the Aussies. England should’ve won but have emerged with a lot to like

Christ he’s surpassed himself again

Have a head wobble you cornet

The Ashes are not won, no, the series was drawn 2-2 and frankly 3-1 would have been a travesty, agree with Bob can’t help feel we’ve let the, off the hook, Edgbaston still rankles

As for not beating India or AustraliaId flip that and say neither nation, one and two in the world, haven’t won here for 20 odd years plus, a far better stat eh?

India and Australia are still the best two sides in the world currently for me, we may be scraping for third but the bowling still worries me. As for a series in India it will be as hard as they come on turning pitches

This.

Two very evenly matched sides, albeit ones with very different approaches. It's been an enthralling series, and if you haven't enjoyed it, you can't be a fan of cricket.

Will be interesting to see what squad we take to India. It will be a much changed bowling attack, as would be a surprise if Jimmy goes, and Moeen and Broad already out. One things for sure, there won't be a dull moment. (I don't just mean the exchanges between RS and Cuzer  :) )
