It's The Ashes (again)
Moeen has played some beautiful shots, such a classy batsman.

We won't win this, with the weather its got draw written all over it.

England haven't played badly this series, I'd say we've matched the aussies for the most part. As ever with an England side in any sport however, we're left asking "what if...?" in this case when it comes to poor catching/no balls/poor strokes.

Moeen's settled the innings down quite nicely, could have gone pear-shaped after Duckett went cheaply but I'd say we're on top now. Hopefully Crawley can actually kick on from a start for once and not throw his wicket away after lunch.

If you'd have told me this time last year that Zak Crawley and Moeen Ali would have contributed a 98 run partnership for the third wicket I'd ask for what drugs you were on

Yet here we are.

Still 51 overs to be bowled today and Cummins pissing about with the field every three balls.

He might have to bowl some spin in a moment if he wants to get paid for this match.

Credit to Crawley. I'm at Edgbaston so haven't seen it, but assume he's batted well!

He's been alright but the key thing is his edges have gone to the boundary rather than Australians.

Fair play chap, I swear you're always down Edgbaston at the cricket. I'm beginning to question whether you have a job, or if you do, whether you actually open the batting for Warwickshire  Big Grin

For all you who don’t want Crawley playing for England, this is why he is brilliant hundred and Englands strike rate since lunch, wow.

What a knock. Showed his undoubted ability. Just needs to show some authority and consistency going forwards.

Was about to post something similar and I've been very critical over the past couple of summers.

For all the points made about his average, his FC record, getting out cheaply etc etc I genuinely don't think there is another opener in the country who can play that innings.

Also this series, he's made a few more starts - a lot less 0-10 scores and a few more 30-40 scores. It's showing signs of improvements.
