It's The Ashes (again)

That was me after the first innings at Lords.  Big Grin

TBF he hadn't bowled prior to them and had consistently failed with the bat, he was only offering his captaincy skills...

I think he's probably shut me up since then.  There still needs to be a bit more of match situation play, but Stokes in beast mode and batting with the tail has turned up.

I think that may have been me, but only on the basis of him not looking at all fit, it was not a reflection on his skill. His last two innings have been superb. He's a wonderful cricketer.

Yet again, one side gains control from the other side, and duly hands it back to them through mistakes.

Awful shots from both Marnus and Smith. Enjoyed YJB giving Smith some verbal on the way out.

The trouble is when he’s missed half a dozen catches and 2 stumpings and possibly played a sizeable part in costing England the ashes, it also makes him look like he needs to concentrate more on his job and less on his gob.

But at least it’s game on again….

If his hands were as active as his gob he would be entitled to give him some.

I really can't make sense of this series. England have simultaneously been poor, but have spent large chunks of the series on top, but have gone on to throw it away. The first 3 games have been tight and Australia have been clinical but nothing more than average, yet they could end up with a 3-0 lead.

It's bizarre and frustrating in equal quantities. Ultimately, we're the masters of our own downfall. Can we finally learn to convert a good position into dominance and ultimately a victory?

I’m surprised smith didn’t respond to him along the lines of “I should have hit it to you Jonny, I’d still be in”
