Cheers Midge. Was great day. After our extended war on covid that only fell away last Christmas finally felt like things are back to normal here. Well... as normal as things get here! Clocked in at 1:50:03 shaved a minute off my PB. Blue sky absolutely great day.

First marathon is 35 days away. 加油 as we say around these parts!

Was out in Greenwich yesterday and they’ve started setting up for the marathon next week.

Always love to see it.

Tapering for first marathon on Sunday. Obviously now I've got my first case of runners knee in two years. frustrating. Hoping I can tolerate it given I was just hoping to finish not smash any records.

Best of luck mate.

Managed 3 x 10km last week which I was pretty happy with. Time probably only allows me 2 this week, but I'll keep plugging away.

Survived - first marathon in the pocket. 4 hours 58mins.

Dodgy knee held up but from 33km onwards my good knee started misbehaving Big Grin

Was a tough end but great race. Organised really well and loads of crowds cheering on runners.

China being China I was gifted a bottle of vinegar for taking part because why not. Cheers all for your encouragement.

Great effort.

As is always the way in the marathon, bodies can cope up to 20 miles, it's after then when everything seems to go completely to shit.

When's your next one?  Big Grin

Half marathon next month in Dalian. I only really got into running late 2018 prior to getting married to shake off the beer belly. Did first race end of 2019 then there's been no chance in China because of zero covid. Since that's been abandoned races are back and am really enjoying having opportunities to go around the country for a race at the weekend. I'd never have known about Taiyuan where I was today but had a great weekend. Great food, locals super welcoming and ancient part of the town was well impressive.

Could do with couple of days off work like but will manage. Just gonna be hobbling around school next few days!
