Running Clique
I have the Winchester 10k this morning as part of my training towards Kew Half Marathon. Route changed twice due to fallen tree. Wind is already whipping up and due to get worse. And to think I do this for fun ?‍♂️

Last big run ahead of next week today. Gonna aim for an 11 miler, although I’m not sure the 8 pints and double Big Mac I consumed on Friday night are going to help.

I don't know. I tend run well the morning after a burger and a few beers. It's all about the carbs! Big Grin

Good luck! I was going to try a longer run yesterday, and change my route up a bit at the same time, chose a different route through the woods which was far too muddy and slowed me right down, and actually made my route a lot shorter so ended doing a 29 minute 5k and sulked off home. Got a 7/8k route mapped out for next time though.

Knocked out 70km this month and on course for a 100. Know I've said it a few times on this thread but for me just looking at my heart rate and keeping it 150 max and not giving a toss about pace has really made a huge difference to me. Much easier on the legs and could run every day now if I had to.

11 miles done, that was bloody hard in this wind! Felt like every direction I ran in it was in my face.

Most of the prep done now for next week, will do a short run, probably no more than five miles, on Wednesday to keep the legs warm but otherwise good to go.

That's the way to do it.

Good work Duffers. Minging running in conditions like these so fair play for getting out the door. Always makes race day conditions seem easier too.

Cross Country yesterday - it was a swamp!  Sad

Just managed about 6.5k but forgot to press start on strava till about 1.5k in, so recorded 5.15k @ 28.03 mins at a slightly slower pace so am happy to have improved my distance without too much effort.

Damn, I came on here to post about how today I managed a 3mile run in 30 minutes, average pace of 9.51 m/pm (I'm happy with that), only to read some of you fuckers have run 11 miles and 70km.

Fuck sake!

I've no idea what the end game to this running lark is. I initially started to get to a reasonable fitness for football, which I feel like I've achieved to an extent (I can rock up and play a game, without blowing out my arse within 5 mins!).

I was knackered towards the end of today's run, but I could've carried on, but needed to leave the gym due to attending in my lunch hour. I'd like to enter a run, just as something to aim for and work towards. But no idea where to start with all that.

Also, I'm doing the running on a treadmill, and I'm well aware running out and about is a very different beast.
