back into it after Chinese New Year...taking my own advice and just focusing on heart rate and not pace and distance and done 20km in the last three days and not feeling sore at all. Keep it aerobic Big Grin

Any of you biffs use strava? have done for a while...was wondering if the pro version was worth getting?

I use it, but not the pro version. I guess if you’re running A LOT and take it reasonably seriously you’d get quite a lot out of the pro version.

I've got a subscription. Allows you better analyse and compare your sessions (splits for reps etc) rather than just an overall pace analysis. That's the main one for me. Plus it's about £30 a year so it's really not too expensive. Failing that you can do all the above on Garmin Connect I just much prefer the interface on Strava, Garmin connect isn't the best I don't think.

Getting out for an easy 10 miles this morning following a 10k race yesterday. Nice morning for it, fucking pissing down.

I managed 2 miles in just under 20 mins. No idea if that's good or not. I was happy with it, considering I hadn't ran since early December.

5k is 3.1 miles and a reasonable time is anything under 30 mins, so you were on track for that which ain’t bad at all.

Did a 6.5 miler yesterday to keep myself warm for the weekend’s big one - 11.

Annoyingly despite running more than I have in years I’m also heavier than I have been in a long old time. I’d like to think it’s all down to extra muscle being packed on, but realistically my son is going through sleep regression and I’m permanently knackered! Been hammering the carbs and sugary stuff just to stay functioning.

Good work Duffers, how many weeks is it now only a couple?

I'm working towards a HM end of March - probably the distance I've raced the least but also my favourite distance to run. Although I'm hoping the marathon retains top spot after some success later in the year.

Two weeks on Sunday. At the stage of training now where I’m doing a big 10+ mile run at the weekend and a shorter (10k) run in the week to keep the legs warm. It’s not going to be a quick one by any stretch but that doesn’t matter.

Isn’t the London marathon ballot due soon?

I've no idea. I've got unfinished business with London after a quite spectacular blow up last time and have vowed not to enter again until I get a good for age place.
