In hindsight, wrong decision to play him yesterday.
Headless chicken in the Brunt mould for most of it.
Harper clearly quite ahead in his development than Field for me

He’s not actually that good. Only playing as a last resort.

I thought he played well, even though he did tire and should have been hooked earlier.
Harper was the stand out of the 3 CMs yesterday but Field was better than Barry.

Methoxyl and Cola (if those are your real names), you're talking bollix. He was steady, worked hard winning possession and interacting with Gibbs and Gayle down the left. Like Brunt with less of a magic wand in his left boot, but more energy in his legs. I reckon he went off because he was concussed in that "collision" with one of Saint Tony's thugs.
I don't understand the culture of spacegoatery that pervades this bored. Find a promising young local player and concentrate on knocking him down. Fantastic support.

I thought Field played well first half while Harper was poor. Second half it reversed Harper improved and Field seemed to lose his way a bit.
Both are young and have futures.

he played well. As I said to someone who was moaning about the decision to sub him, "he had to go off, he had consussion". Brunt was the only choice. We were also on top at that point (as we were all match tbf)

If Chris Brunt loses the 50/50 tackle that Field lost for the second goal, we’d be hearing “should never be in the team again” repeated ad nauseam. I’ve barely heard it mentioned. Shows people’s default settings.
If Field had done what Brunt did for the third, I suspect it would be a case of “can’t believe it fell to him seconds after coming on”.
For context, Field did exactly what Brunt did in the first half defending a set piece, but luckily it fell to one of ours to clear. Brunt’s fell for them and we we got punished. Margins and fortune.

Original post is bollocks. Field played well yesterday. Some posters seem to think just because he supports the Albion and came through the academy he should be Messi and Ronaldo all in 1.

I thought he did OK and I was happy to see him start the game. He'll get better the more games he has and will have Barry to learn from.
Sam is Albion through and through and a terrific lad.
