No more evening kick offs

If she follows her logic through on this occasion, we would have to ban police from the streets after 6pm.

This was a comment made in reference to police saying women should avoid going out after dark, which was a stupid comment too. Of course only one part if that gets actually covered....

Of course women should be able to go out after dark and feel safe but some of the stuff coming out on the back of this murder is ridiculous; unfortunately there are evil people out there and sadly there will always be so.

I am torn by this BLV. Of course there is conflating of multiple arguments taking place at the moment leading to stupid comments being made by many people. Most of it is not relevant to the direct issue of the attack on this young lady.
On the other hand the subject of unconscious bias is something I have had to be aware of operationally, and personally for probably 20 years now and most people don't understand what it is, let alone discuss it.
If - for the wrong reasons - men become aware of it more, then something good can come from this situation.

Apparently 'men' have to alter their behaviour. Given that i have no tendencies whatsoever to kill or harm anybody, what do i have to change?

I would suggest that it is the potential rapists/murderers that have to change. But then again i dont see many people admitting they need help because they have an uncontrollable urge to murder a woman.

Yes - Men do have to change their behaviour regardless of your tendencies good or bad.
Its not as much as your hissy fit seems to be protesting about, or as much as the extremists on the other side will protest, but the fact that you can't see the need to even approach the subject indicates the problem.

I would say that his lack of need to approach the problem is probably a good thing.

Flip side  - a very good friend of mine, a male, is currently in an abusive relationship where his wife is continually attacking him.

Are we overreacting here. Again?
