Sadly well past it, but a bit disappointed to see him having a laugh with Bamford at 4 0 down

Another signing Slav wanted and has failed.

A budget signing.

Not good enough.

He was brought in for his experience, and I'd hope that he is and will continue to impart his experience and footballing knowledge into Ajayi and O'Shea. Maybe we're seeing the benefits of that already.

However, playing wise, he's most probably past it.

He can perform as part of a 5, with others doing his running. This takes a player out of midfield where we are lightweight already.

The alternative is we adopt a Pulisesque deep defensive line, and he plays like GMac, but again this doesn't suit us.

Another inappropriate signing, eating into our meagre budget.

Wasn't he being hailed as the experienced warrior who was going to sort us out, on here the other week? Didn't he have that game where he actually looked like he might do it too?

Are we ok to point out that Hegazi was better?

Because he was. Absolutely miles better

Did we sell Hegazi to fund Ivanovic's wages?

Despite Slav saying he wanted to keep Hegazi, he hardly played him.

What price another 12 months to Chris Brunt to keep this all together, with 15 mins off the bench?

It's just ridiculous. We can wheel out the "yeah but he was on 70K per week" but our defence was significantly weakened because Ivanovic played one decent game (which Hegazi also played in) and everyone kidded themselves into thinking that it must be all down to Ivanovic.

I've got a great idea. Let's sell the rest of our defenders too so we can lose by 9 instead of 5. At least we'll get another 130K or so off the wage bill.

An obviously shit decision at the time, being proven now

Also apparently now we've got some money for wages in January. So what happened there?

Hegazi is almost exactly the kind of player we'll be now be looking to sign

Worse sale in recent years

Ivanovic is appalling & so obviously well past it. Watch him for Leeds 5th goal.

When you go up intention is to buy better players not worse ones
