noun
noun: dinosaur; plural noun: dinosaurs

  1. 1.
a fossil reptile of the Mesozoic era, in many species reaching an enormous size.

  2. 2.
a person who doesn't believe every piece of bullshit they read on the internet.

I think definition 2.2, taken from The OED probably applies to Duffers, in this instance.

Roughly interprets to; "should have scored more goals".

Less goals surely? If we're creating less than zero decent chances per game. This is what's confusing me about the stat. I think super_slav needs to explain, as he posted it.

And herein lies the deep rooted negativity within our fan base. Last season we were using expected goals as a stick to beat our strikers with because we weren't scoring as many as expected. This season we've scored more than we should have according to xG and we're using it again as a stick to beat the team with because we're not creating enough.

Hopefully one day our expected goals and goals scored will be aligned and then our fans won't know which way to criticise

It’ll be Johnstone’s fault.
