Grant(?), Robinson, Grady, Periera, HRK, Edwards, Grosiki, Phillips...enough comp for 3 places, he says.

I have always thought that we only need 1 more striker, even if we lose Austin and Zohore.

We are only ever likely to play 1 central striker, if we got 2 in we would almost certainly have one not in the matchday squad - what's the point in that.

Would rather we look for another player capable of playing right wing back, especially if we are going to persist with the 3 central defenders policy

Definitely. I can see us getting destroyed down that side all season without another option

"Bologna want Filip Krovinovic. Another blow to #wba's hopes of bringing the midfielder back - which are fading. Deal still not impossible but budget constraints make it tricky. Link to follow."

Although this time he could be right, since he's only quoting Slav, who said in an interview on Saturday that he expected the deal for Krov to be done by the end of the weekend.

O Jogo reckon Krov is already in England (This link has a screenshot of the article).

If that the route we're going down, whenever I've watched Millwall, I've been impressed with Romeo at right back, but we might be looking for someone with experience at a higher level.

Romeo is a good shout - would be available at a decent fee too.

Agree on the only needing 1 striker... I think Robinson, Grant and HRK give us enough options... especially as I imagine we'll be looking for goals from Grady, Pereira, Krov, Gallagher, Edwards and Phillips (lol).

If we can move Austin, Zohore, Grosicki and Hegazi out, that's a good £150k saved on wages and potentially a couple million in fees.... which should be enough for us to bring 1, maybe 2 more alongside Grant and Krov...  Romeo and Rico Henry wouldn't go amiss!

That outlay would be around circa £35m. Just shows what we are up against, though saying that we’d have a smaller wage bill as 10 players are out of contract.

I think promotion maybe came 12 months too soon for us. Realise with Covid that’s a luxury we could ill afford, but based on our squad another 12 months in the Champ - without a global Pandemic - would have been better IMO.

We’d have been arriving with fewer big wages and ageing players, and I think Ajayi, OShea, Edwards, Harper and Field would have benefitted from another year. Imagine we’d have given Palmer or Griffiths a go too.

I think Jenkins quashed that notion in his departing interview

I've just looked at Romeo's Wiki page, and he's apparently the son of Jazzie B! If we sign him and we're relegated, will it be a case of being back to reality...

For some inexplicable and uninformed reason I think that we’ll sell a prominent first teamer & replace him with a loaner.

Who do you think?

Only one I can think that may be a “surprise” is Phillips or Hegazi.

Yes, this has become a key problem of the 3-4-3.  Maybe Gallagher could fill the role, but risky.

It was only really a formality after last week's breakthrough, but I understand Filip Krovinovic has now signed to rejoin Albion on a season-long loan from Benfica. Now just awaiting final bits of paperwork and a formal announcement. #WBA
