Summer Transfer Window Thread
I still think we need a leader at the back who is a Premier League standard defender. Olsson in his prime. And a tough tackling defensive midfielder. Left back will concern me too if Gibbs gets injured. Probably have to accept it might take another year to address the weaknesses in our squad as we won't have enough to spend this season and the lads that got us up will be given a chance.

Diangana
Krov
Robinson
Pereira

That gets us to where we were last season, and all 4 have plenty of potential to improve/increase value. That would be an excellent start.

Button - decent enough experienced backup, just feels a waste of a million... would rather Etheridge or Dillon Phillips who are both available for a similar fee.

Kipré - for 900k we can’t lose, and would add some of the attributes we’re missing.

We’d still need a striker, a CM who would allow Krov, Livermore and Sawyers to move forward, and a fullback.

Ultimately this summer is about retaining the players who contributed last year and generated such a positive dressing room, adding a couple bits of PL quality (hopefully they MC and Striker) and then adding a couple gems that should be good if we drop.

Hopefully Harper, Palmer, Tulloch, O’Shea and Field can get some exposure and be part of a squad should we drop.

Not arsed about that. He's alright but for £16m I'm not convinced.

Grady will have him on toast....   Big Grin

Decent footballer, but not a defender. Very much a winger playing fullback who Lamouchi's overall organisation bailed out.

Not sure he'll have that discipline or organisation under Gammonhead.

Button - set to join in the next 48hrs
Grant - bid rejected
Kipre - deal close
Duffy - joined Celtic
Deeney - talks ongoing

If our summer business was -

Deeney
Grant/other young striker
Periera
Krovi
Robinson
Diangana
Kipre
Button
CM

I’d be fucking ecstatic

Like you Dumbo, I'd be a bit impressed.

An attacking right back is absolutely not what those twats need. Their form improved last season when they went back to basics at the end of the season with a Pulis-style defence full of CBs.
