I didn't want to state the obvious …

A lot of people seem to have problems with this. It's simple. As fans we can expect relegation- it's all headng that way based on us being so far behind 17th. Though players go into every game and bust a gut to impress. If we suddenly get back to back wins and those above falter then it looks different.
Expect the worst but hope for the best and pressure is off for us as fans.

Looks like we may at least go down fighting rather than a whimper.

We caught the dingles in the 11 point choker and so anything is possible with the new players that will hopefully transform the team. COYB!!!!!

In 2021, can we give the "We could have kept Bilic and done a Norwich" a rest?

Aside from the obvious and much-discussed reasons, Norwich aren't even promoted yet. The Championship is very tight indeed this year.

And we aren't gone until there's an R next to our name on the table!

Far too early to say we are relegated. After today we should have enough new players, and hopefully enough quality, to be competitive in this division. There are still plenty of games left and loads of teams have pulled clear of relegation in the past after going on decent runs. Even average runs like in our great escape. We have a manager who has the t-shirt in respect of this. All we need is that new manager bounce.

Come on Sam, BOUNCE FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

I'm finding it hard to get exciting about any new signings due to our situation. It just seems too little too late. Would love to be proven wrong.

If we can just find something tomorrow night to scrape a win - I know I know hope blah blah... - then these players coming in will hit the ground v Spurs and Man U (where we are not expected to get anything) and then hopefully be integrated for the other 5 games that we need 3 wins and a draw from.

I think we're down, mostly due to our defensive record and the fact that the sides above us have picked up some points recently. C'est la vie.

However, in terms of next season there's a world of difference in confidence and mentality between going down with a whimper getting battered every game, and going down swinging picking up a win here and there. The latter will stand us in far greater stead than the former and will have a large effect on our promotion chances. IMO of course.

This is why I still welcome new signings and will still watch the games, hoping to win. The majority of these players will be here next season (how many relegated sides sold even a 3rd of their starting XI?) and its them that will be playing regardless of manager.

I do agree that the manager situation should be sorted the day after the season ends, we have no excuse for a lack of planning.
