Now that would well & truly put the icing on the cake

Always difficult to know for certain when you translate an interview, but an article I read quoted him as saying ‘in the near future’ while also saying right now he has a contract with CSKA and is focused on that.

I don’t think anything is imminent.

Specifics on upcoming deals:

- David Button is being signed for £500K, not £1M.

- Cédric Kipré is being signed for £750K, not £900K.

- Grady Diangana will be on £35K per week.

This was the article I found on Vlašić, although you‘ll need to run it through Google translate.

West Bromwich Albion are on the brink of a club record £18million deal for West Ham winger Grady Diangana, in a triple swoop for the Premier League newcomers.

As revealed by Telegraph Sport on Wednesday, West Brom’s bid for the England under-21 international has been accepted and he will have a medical on Friday morning.

Diangana impressed on loan at West Brom last season and it is understood the offer could rise to £20 million after add-ons and bonuses.

The 22-year-old will earn around £35,000 a week at the Hawthorns, in a move which will infuriate West Ham’s supporters.

West Ham’s board are under renewed scrutiny for sanctioning the sale of their former academy trainee, with Brentford’s Said Benrahma likely to be targeted as a replacement.

Slaven Bilic, the Albion head coach, is also signing Brighton goalkeeper David Button in a £500,000 deal while Cedric Kipre is joining for £750,000 from Wigan.

Button is being brought in to provide competition for Sam Johnstone and Kipre, a French centre-half, is the latest departure from Wigan following their relegation to League One.

Bilic is also keen to sign Benfica midfielder Filip Krovinovic, another player to impress on loan last season, with talks ongoing with the Portuguese club.

Diangana's arrival at the Hawthorns is a significant coup for West Brom, however. He made a huge impact at West Brom as the club finished second in the Championship, scoring six goals and registering eight assists.

Matheus Pereira has already joined the club in a £8.25m move from Sporting, after an excellent season on loan.

West Brom kick off their Premier League return, for the first time since 2018, with a home game against Leicester on September 13.

Am I the only one struggling with the logic of selling Diangana to sign Benhrama?

An added bonus is that the Villa won't get him.
Petty I know, but....
