In my local a pint is £4.30, if I call after work and have 2 pints a night, that's over £40 a week without weekend drinking! Tis a lost of money to piss up the wall.

I’ve never been in so I shouldn’t be shocked. A shocking lack of pubs down there. On Halesowen Road alone there’s been The Castle, The Cooksey, The Vic, Old Hill Labour Club, Sams, The George, The Gate Hangs Well, Haden Hill Rose and Crownall go in the last 35 years. Keep away from Old Joint Stock and the like and it’s cheaper. I can get a pint of Guinness for £3.90 round here but in Digbeth it’s anything from £4.80 to about £6. Crazy difference in price though

On behalf of the recently retired KKK, I would just like to say that this is all the fault of RACHEL THIEVES.

There used to be about 9 or 10 in the mile or so walk from one end to the other, now there are 3. Average price for a pint down here is now close to a fiver. Easier and cheaper to get the 3 bottles of Morretti for 6 quid from Tescos. Edited as required

It’s way too expensive to drink two or three nights a week, go to Brum, catch a taxi back etc. Also it’s not 1995 and hedonism is not top of the agenda for people.

Most people I know have an alcohol addiction. For many, a bottle of wine every night, and a few are everyday pub dwellers.
