The cup was clearly not a priority and that’s fair enough.

What's makes me laugh is that when we were in the Prem the same people said our priority was to stay in the Prem so no.point going on a cup run. Now we're in the championship we don't want a cup run because we want to get into the Prem.

So what they really mean is when we are bought by a.trilllionaire and we've spent a billion on the squad the .we can go on a cup run unless we're fighting for a.champions league place and then we best not

FFS the extension of all this is that we can only goon a cup run when we are in the 5th tier and really shit

Some.of these fans need to take a hard look in the mirror

When did we look like winning anything pre-Megson and the money of the Prem? One decent cup run in the late 80s? Frustrating as it is football isn’t a level playing field and we need the money the Prem offers us to carry on competing and moving forward. That’s just the way it is because our owner isn’t going to throw millions at us like Fosun for example.

Err we got to a semi final under Mowbray..

You do realise that virtually every other big club bar Derby, and I mean 40 or so clubs in the league, have been to a major final since we have in 1968. Wigan, Palace, Stoke, Cardiff, Villa, Hull, Southampton, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Swansea, Bradford have all been to finals in the last 10 years and that's what I can remember.

So while it's something to do with the playing field it's not all to do with it. It's about ambition, good management, a bit of luck and the belief.

I'd trade any cup final right now for many years 16th in the Prem

That is post Megson and you’ve just proven the point we got there in part due to our time in the Prem allowing us to buy better players than we had done for nearly twenty years.

I think I've been to 8 semi finals since 1975. We've lost them all. 2 were in 1982. Not sure what point you're making but one thing I do know is that if you fail to play your best team in those cup games you reduce your chance of winning. I bet in the last 10 years we've played our best team a handful of times and under your Messiah Pulis .. never

What is your obsession with the Premier League? It is boring as fuck. You will never, ever see Albion win it. We will most likely never see Albion even compete regularly in it, other than the odd season where we finish 8th. Woppdie doooo!

Whether you like it or not, the FA Cup represents the best chance this club has of achieving anything noteworthy.

I know it doesn't sit well with the general public and their love affair with the boring Premier League, but no one really cares about finishing 8th in a league you're not welcome in or can't win. People don't remember that. People remember days out at Wembley and lifting trophies.
Well said that man give me a day out at Wembley in the fa Cup final or a cup final win any fuggin day the Premier is a bore fest and is only there to serve the egos of the big clubs I really don't look forward to seeing us being under the cosh for 80 odd mins defending stoutly just to inevitably be undone in the last few mins, the Dings look decent at moment and they have expectation of making the top 6 at some point but the penny will drop soon cause the prem will not allow forsun or any fugger else to spend the money to break the top 6 monopoly so for clubs like us a decent cup run is the only remote chance we have of silverware ,Fwiw I can't see Lai spending any money even if we go up and if we don't he'll loose interest (if not already) until he can off load us to some one else

He only does circa 40pt hoof ball survival in the prem, that's his FA Cup final, be told!

Also I’ve enjoyed watching the kids play they look good and it’ll be great experience for them.

Every fan I imagine wants to win the cup but realistically this isn’t the year to be taking the risk with our first team at this stage of the competition.

Bob on. I absolutely love the cup but this year we have more important issues.

If we go up, it won't be important next year either as the club will want to simply survive in the league. It's boring. It's relative and it's not what football is about.

Ask Lai if he wants to wing the cup, or be promoted? I reckon I know what the answer would be.
