You do realise that virtually every other big club bar Derby, and I mean 40 or so clubs in the league, have been to a major final since we have in 1968. Wigan, Palace, Stoke, Cardiff, Villa, Hull, Southampton, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Swansea, Bradford have all been to finals in the last 10 years and that's what I can remember.

So while it's something to do with the playing field it's not all to do with it. It's about ambition, good management, a bit of luck and the belief.

We clearly set out to win the game but one look at the team tells you that our priority is the league and so it should be. Without the Prem money we can say good bye to all our decent first teamers within the next three years. 

Also I’ve enjoyed watching the kids play they look good and it’ll be great experience for them.

Every fan I imagine wants to win the cup but realistically this isn’t the year to be taking the risk with our first team at this stage of the competition.
