No Jay Rod, Gayle or Barnes.

Goals have been spread throughout the team this season.

I remember the panic calls of ‘how are we going to replace all the goals of Gayle and JayRod’.

I freely admit I was in the WATGCF camp...

Birmingham City have won just one of their last eight league visits to the Hawthorns (W1 D3 L4), a 3-2 win in August 2005.

#WBA v #BCFC

I wish I hadn't read that!
I'm expecting a tough game. I know the table doesn't lie but every time I see Blues, they look decent. Plus they have the set piece threat, big man in the penalty area and stuff we don't handle brilliant. Looking forward to seeing Bellingham too, although hoping he doesn't impress too much Wink

WBA have only lost 6 games this season.

Next fewest losses is Leeds and Forest with 9.

WBA have conceded just 2 goals in their last 7 games.

WBA have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 10 games.

Not often considered but we're currently on course to concede 15-20 goals less than last season. That accounts for one of Rodriguez or Gayle.

The defence has been a major factor in us being much better this season. It's nice to approach games at the moment feeling we only need one goal, rather than hoping for 2-3 just to make sure.

You say much better, but we’re only 4 points better off than this time last season, and our current PPG wouldn’t have been enough for a top 2 finish last year either. Had we kept Barnes for the full season, I imagine we’d have been ahead of where we’re currently at.

I know it’s comparing apples with oranges, but for all our better balance and better all round play, we’re not exactly picking up loads more points.

Goes to show how just how deep a crack can be covered by 2x20 goal a season strikers in a team.
