The fact they are more than happy to purge and alienate thousands on the left of Labour Party in pursuit of untenable votes to the right tells you everything you need to know about the lack of values, credibility and just plain old politic nouse Starmer, McSweeney and the Scottish bloke from Wolverhampton have. It’s absolute madness that only Centrist Dad’s and Blue Labour types believe in.
The drift further and further right has achieved what so far? Tanking approval ratings, the most unpopular leader on record and the emboldening of the far right Reform Party ffs! It’s embarrassing, how much do No10 advisers get paid to be this shit?
I have absolutely no idea what a centre-ist dad is. I do think Labour were the only party to vote for at the last election. The glee felt by many at the lack of their original thought needs to be balanced with the current situation. Bloody Hell! I agree Labour are under-achieving, no doubt, but where else should you vote? The seeds of this damage were planted almost 50 years ago by a party that sowed division and fed on greed. The very workers that did the hardest jobs, that sweated over molten metals, that built ships or dug coal from a third of a mile underground were not only discredited but branded as enemies, those that didn't die from industrial disease that is. Meanwhile banks and financial snake oil salesmen were the ones leading us to the promised land. Social housing was sold off, as were national- and local - assets, essential services especially. Newspapers spoke of a post industrial landscape but did not care all it meant was Merry Hill/Metrocentre/Meadowhall, low wages, low skills. Just look at the country now and tell me we were well served by those that told us that it was the workers being too greedy that was the problem.
Tell me how Sunak winning the election and explaining how bad things really are would be preferable? Surely the most desirable result was exactly what happened, a wipeout? It is going badly, no doubt, how else was it ever going to be? But the dissatisfaction is primarily fed by outside influences feeding ignorance while ignoring basic and genuine concerns. I think Labour are poorly prepared and very badly advised, but they were still the best hope for the country I want for my offspring. Fight it from within, surely? Not by giving credence to those that have already caused all the problems.
The problem is, No10 are the ones who are pushing out left of centre members and even MPs. Until they are gone nothing will get any better for Labour’s popularity or ability to win the next election.

What do you want me to say? Labour are on course for a similar wipeout to that that befell the Tories, following mostly the same failed political course that Sunak followed. They are alienating their core vote whilst chasing lost causes who will vote for Reform. By the time any of this governments policies have any real impact the next election will be upon us. If Starmer and co are still leading the party, then Reform will walk the next election.
I just feel like I’m witnessing a political car crash slowly happening to the country whilst the leader is asleep at the wheel, and his passengers wearing blue Labour rosettes tell him it’ll be ok, as long as he just swerves a little further to the right.

Oh look. Number 10 and Shabana have stuck their heads in a bubble trying to chase Reform instead of reading the bloody room and failed to carry the rest of the party with them. It's the welfare changes all over again.
Absolutely amateur hour incompetence.

Youve made an excellent post there
The other important point is our mps were once the guys who sweated over the molten coals
Or built a business from nothing
Lived in council houses and paid a low rent
Bought an affordable private house
So therefore had that fire in the belly to make things better
But then being an MP became a career (Labour post John Smith)
Style over substance
Spin doctors
Potential local candidates dropped in favour of pretty boys & girls whove never wiped their own arse
Nodding dogs to the party & not the area

I thought she spoke very well on the BBC show
But get the impression that a lot of her party will
Not back her plans which in my opinion is not what
A lot of the general public want
And as a famous song goes the public gets what the public want
Unfortunately the Labour Party are following the Tories in tearing
Themselves apart from the inside
Only one winner in all of this which really will end in disaster.

The room is pretty clear on immigration. Pandering to a few lefties cost them on the much needed welfare changes.

Her response to Max Wilkinson was objectively moronic.
Oh, the division that migration is causing is leading to racists coming out of the woodwork is it? Spending the last 10 years indulging their rhetoric has really helped with that, let's double down! That will definitely sort it!
Meanwhile, in a northern town in my county Patriotic Alternative were parading a banner calling for remigration. Let's indulge them more!
