On the flip side that back 4 saw us automatically promoted not so long ago. On the other they don't look like Statham, Wile, Robertson and Batson who were our back 4 for years.

Since then they've been relegated and finished 10th and 9th in the Championship.

With Steve Bruce single handedly ruining both years.

That back 4 is/should be good enough.

Good point

If we completely block out Bruce and assume we had Val for half a season and CC for half a season, that would have meant 7th place two seasons ago and 5th place last season

This would be my preference. Bartley should be no where near the squad, let alone starting XI. The alternatives aren't perfect but they're a far better option.

We've had that back four for far too long.

I hope you’re taking into account the teams that had games in hand FFS!

Bartley also a big loss last season as perfect for CC-ball.

A little concerning he’s been in and out of the side during pre-season, we could really do with squeezing some life out of him - thankfully his contract expires this summer so we’ll have renewal hunting Kyle!

One I’d choose too.

Shocked to see how few people would start Swift given he was our most creative player by some distance last year.

On the flip side you could say its the most experienced back four in the league. Especially if you add in Bartley and Pieters as back up.

Just a shame we ship so many fucking goals......  Big Grin

Palmer

Townsend
Bartley
Kipré
Furlong

Okay
Molumby

Phillips
Swift
Wallace

BTA

Griffiths, Pieters, Ajayi, Chalobah, Mowatt, Sarmiento, Maja

If Grady is available, have him in for Chalobah

Still leaves us with Dike, Kelly, Reach, Grady, TGH plus the likes of Malcolm, Faal, Taylor, Fellows and Ingram.

For all the talk of squad depth it’s not too bad, even if we lose another couple.
