Id imagine very few people care or notice and those that do will have an impact of zero on outcomes for said party

So no taxation without representation doesn't come into it at all?

Councillors avoiding defeat so they can pick up another year of allowances?

How little we seem to value democracy, eh? No wonder politicians treat us with contempt.
