If migrants are assessed and given leave to remain they are eligible to apply for social housing
A NTQ is served by the temporary accomodation landlord (usually run by SERCO)
Assessed as being in 'need' by the council and given homeless priority banding
They express an interest (bid) on properties they are eligible for
If they are in a higher band than the other applicants technically it will be offered to them
They can apply for UC HB & lots of other benefits
You can see why local people get fed up, epecially if theyve been trying for years
Until the incentives are stopped, that make crossing the channel worth the risk, nothing will change
