Who’d have thought a sandwich of thick toasted bread, beef steak, pork steak, chorizo, spicy sausage, ham with melted cheese and a fried egg on top, served on french fries and covered in a spicy beer and tomato sauce could be so delicious.
Is there a francesinha vegan option?
I did see them on a menu in places - feels sacrilege!

If anyone feels the need to attempt this culinary delight locally look up Porto Douro in Solihull. I don’t think they call it the francesinha but it nearly killed me when i tried it. Thanks for reminding me SW4 and it sounds like you’re still living the dream - well done mate.

I’ve drank a LOT of port today, and the man said it was good for your gut due to the fermentation so I’m sure it’s all balanced out OK.
You might want to get a second opinion on that. I bet he didn’t take your blood pressure.
