Oh piss off. Would you deem it acceptable for a group of men of any race sitting on street corners harassing anyone who was out at night? Particularly women? I wouldn't.
In this case they happened to be Muslim. Just as they were when harassing and slashing the tyres of Labour activists in Yardley and Ladywood at the last election before some disgraceful behaviour at the count. Cultural misogyny runs deep.

I'm not writing anyone off. I'm scratching the surface of what those who feel oddly driven to paint Zebra crossings may be experiencing, whereas you'd rather ignore it.
I feel distinctly uncomfortable watching the march of flags outwards from Birmingham. I find it even more distasteful that some of my former colleagues in the Tory Party appear to be encouraging it. The rise of nationalism (let's use Orwell's definition) is driven by cultural issues (and the lack of government action) as much as it is by the economy - you can't ignore that or pretend it doesn't exist.
My own brother was a supporter of Corbyn, played in a ska band with the late Louis Campbell who tragically died in Hockley a couple of weeks ago, is passionately pro-Gaza (this makes for excellent pub trips) yet cannot wait to escape from Balsall Heath which fortunately he will be able to do in the next few months. Why is that? It must have something to do with his environment, surely? Or is he what you're implying I am too?
