Anyone who thinks these flags are being put up as part of a sudden burst of national pride is deluded. It's all about racism - no more, no less.

It's pathetic that politicians are falling over each other giving it tacit support based on a fake premise. They know better than anyone what the reason for it is, but are too cowardly to do anything about it. As a result it'll now become endemic right across England and those racists of a more violent disposition will take it as a green light to commit further despicable acts.

Or they could just leave the whole thing to run its course and go away meanwhile addressing the underlying issues.
