Trump just wants to have the fighting stop so he can push for Nobel peace prize. Unfortunately he doesn’t care what that takes and if Ukraine have to give up everything they have been fighting for then that’s secondary. Putin knows this and isn’t negotiating, he’s just leveraging Trump to get what he wants.
As soon as that happens he’ll start destabilising again and move further into Ukraine.
