For the first time in years, all the players looked fit and all the players knew their jobs and particularly at home, we could see out a match fairly effortlessly. Win, lose or draw, whenever he spoke about a match, he had always seen the same match I had. For two glorious years, I rarely disagreed with the team selection, or anything for that matter. We had one of the best managers available.
But no, that wasn't good enough for some of our fans who started bleating and crying about Pulis.
I knew we'd lose him at some point this season, but I didn't realise all his hard work would be so quickly discarded.
I had to check I hadn't written that! We were so organised it appeared effortless. The times the opposition broke our lines and yet two minutes later had squared, passed back, ran out of options with the ball back once more in their own half. We rarely looked like losing and the draws were always bossed by Albion. Personally I never found it boring, it could be frustrating if a team really sat deep and we couldn't find the goal to make them change their game but all sides see that happen.
I found it boring at times, I find Pepball boring in general it has to be said. I admired the organisation of Cc but I despaired at the double standards of fans who berated Pulis for similar defensive organisation against far better opposition.
I can’t remember one person on here who wanted CC sacked I remember people hoping he would be less rigid in his approach as it did feel over coached at times. There can be a balance struck between defensive organisation and allowing players a little more freedom, not to mention better set pieces and what we are seeing currently.
