Chances were based in West Smethwick. I started my first proper job there back in 1974 loading kilns.

Back in the day, my parents brother in law died at Chances, some building work being done, 3 or 4 blokes standing around when a roof caved in on them, my Dad and his brother tried to get in to help, but were held back, the blokes were already dead.
