Well he's not an going to be an official, but I had no issue with the content of Davey's post aside from it being patronising.
The more handwringing there is over stuff like this the worse it will get. Every time someone in a position of relative power pushes back against this content it only amplifies the dog whistle that certain UK politicians are more bothered by social media posts than the rape of children. Better to just ignore. They literally can't win the argument when its put in those terms.
I find it more patronising that you think calling out someone politically prominent for saying that we shouldn't trust people who want to overthrow British democracy is handwringing to be honest, especially when that person is due to be appointed to a US government position and is close to the incoming US president. This isn't some random fucker in the pub, Musk being close to the new US admin definitely warrants diplomatic action at the very least.
Like it or not a Labour government has to tiptoe around a MAGA USA.
Sticks and stones.
Getting the US government to tell Elon to shut the fuck up about invading the UK via diplomatic channels.
Invading? Haha he's just shitposting. They'll laugh Mandelson or whoever he sends because well, why wouldn't you knowing the response, out of the room.
Davey's post wasn't really about Musk anyway, it was the set-up to make a point about Brexit.
