They will hang the immigration issue round her neck, and the base will lap it up. Her activism on abortion rights and gun control will also go down like a lead balloon in the states she needs to win.

Her only chance is to choose a running mate who can appeal to swing voters in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania & Michigan.

Same could be said for 90% of the alternatives the Democrats could pick in fairness.

Perhaps polarising the swing vote, give them a choice between an accomplished attorney or serially (literally and morally) bankrupt felon might do the trick for those still scratching their heads. The Trump base would still vote for him if he killed all their children.

Agreed and Harris has a more than decent chance of chosen. My instinct is that Trump will edge it.

... and my bet is that trump will say he's won it whatever the result.
