None of his original White House team from 2016 are still in place, all being replaced by MAGA types who daren't challenge their leader. The previous incumbents provided the checks and balances against his lunacy. 40 of those 44 refuse to endorse his standing for re-election, including his former VP Mike Pence. All this being unprecedented in US election history and an indicator of the threat they believe he poses to national and international security. The next 4 years under Trump would be very unlike 2016-2020.

Ensuring Russia succeeds in Ukraine, as he would, will also embolden them and others like them (Trump idolises all authoritarians). This would greatly increase the possibility of WWIII.

Project 2025 will seek to ensure that Trump and his acolyte successors can't be voted out, so we'll be stuck with MAGA policies indefinitely.
