Sadly a Star City type development next to the Hawthorns would not work in my opinion. Revenue streams? More bums on seats obviously, with much needed ground improvements, better carparking, and reliable public transport (I realise the latter is not directly controlled by the club). We could attract another 5k at least with the right tweaks. With that comes uplift in merch sales, more use of onsite facilities on non match days (party occasions, dinners, shows, concerts etc). Wishful thinking maybe. But that's how I see it.
Ultimately we are a club with a decent appeal and if clubs like Brentford and Bournemouth can thrive without our supporter base then there is potential.
We are also 4 miles from Birmingham and, although many don't like hearing it, we are seen as part of that city- the 2nd biggest in the country.
There's a lot that could be done, of course there is. By any measurements if you ever look up these lists on biggest clubs in the country we tend to fall somewhere between 11-20. That is the perception of us.
Currently though we are valued at less than the going price for one world class player, which is just bizarre and shows how screwed up football's finances are.
Anyhow, onto more important things, I think it's unlikely that an announcement is made before page 200.
