I'd suggest a matter of a few months is deemed close when completing these types of transaction. Much like Kidderminster, it's all relative(s).

Agreed though - if you consider that when some have said it’s close, that a letter of intent might have been signed by Lai and the prospective buyer (which would set out indicative price and exclusivity terms), then it would be true that a deal is close, even if that means it is still a few months away.
In all honesty, I’m amazed we have come this far - the fact that Lai is open to selling at a huge discount to what he paid back in 2016, and is (reportedly) engaging with interested parties still shocks me. Still, I share everyone else’s impatience and won’t get my hopes up until I see that corner flag on a club statement.
