Same thoughts as with VAR. If you have to take more than 30 seconds to watch multiple replays it's not clear and obvious, therefore you can't give the decision.

Players can be unsure. Never an issue to let the officials decide.

If there's doubt refer it to the umpires.

That's what I'm saying. When it's referred and the umpires have to take numerous looks at the footage it's not clear and obvious therefore a decision can't be made. Same with VAR. If you take more than 30 seconds to decide, it's not clear and obvious, is it?

True. My original point was that it used to be the norm that players would let the umpires know if they felt a catch needed more scrutiny. That side of the game has virtually disappeared. Sadly.
