London accounts for 664 of those 722, the other regions are a mix of increase with the biggest being the North West having an increase of 127 (14%), single digit % rises for the others (Midlands has got 22 more people in hospital) and a fall in the South West.
Cases are up again and have been that way for over a week now, but there doesn't seem to be much impact on hospital beds other than in London which has seen a 48% increase in hospital numbers in a week.
Either we are in a position where London is the tip of the spear and we are all going to get this hospitalisation increase, or the fact that their vaccination numbers are so low compared to the rest of the country is a major influence on the numbers in hospital. Regionally, with the exception of London all parts of the country have had higher numbers in hospital within the last 4 months.
We are a week behind according to reports on LBC and BBC
