The thing is Derek if the vaccine doesn't help us get back to some kind of normality I'm not sure what will.
We have got to learn to live with the virus and that could include the vaccine being tweaked to combat new variants just like the flu vaccine.
I'm not against delaying the June 21st deadline, but for the sake of peoples jobs and livelihood's amongst other things, we do need to get back to some kind of normality this year.
The vaccine is part of the solution but we can’t just think it solves the problem. It’s going to take at least 9mths to vaccinate the country let alone the world and then what? Revaccinate again in similar fashion 6-12mths time? It’s going to still need some way of suppressing the virus through other measures like testing and targeting areas that are hotspots.
