Boris Johnson

Former Political Editor of The Daily Telegraph. Peter Oborn, created a website listing the "Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations Of Boris Johnson and His Government".

It was out of date within 24 hours of going live.

I hadn't realised quite what a mess the Tory party had got themselves into with this one and with such a strong majority in the commons. If they do reach the 54 letters to call a vote of no confidence then they will face a daunting task to convince 130 to go along with them as that is the required 50%. If they don't get the 50% then there cannot be another vote of no-confidence for 12 months giving BoJo that time to run riot even more. Imagine the damage that could be done in that time which will bring them much closer to the next election.

If you subscribe to the times, Max Hastings’ comment sums it all up perfectly https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/has-t...-m22zlpxk0

There's this from yesterday's edition of the FT as well

Can't recall such a scathing opinion piece of any politician in the FT before.

Ouch - It is true that you know it's gone very pear shaped when Nadine Dorries is your biggest cheerleader.

The 'tipping point'?

Keir Starmer was accosted by "protesters" outside The Houses of Parliament this afternoon, shouting "Jimmy Saville". Starmer had to be rescued and driven away by police and two protesters were arrested.

This is on Johnson. Just like in The US, under Trump, the far right lunatics are emboldened by the lies of our glorious leader.

And even in his comments on the incident he's still too cowardly to apologise for his allegations regarding Saville.

Not surprising, given his comments about Jo Cox after her murder, but still disgraceful. The longer the Tories fail to act and get this man of of Number 10 the more they tie their brand to this disgraceful politics as the Republicans did with Trump.

I recall a few who used to scoff at the similarities between Trump and Johnson but it’s blatantly apparent that the two are cut from the same cloth and that should be a bleak warning to the U.K.

“It is a wonderful and necessary fact of political biology that we never know when our time is up. Long after it is obvious to everyone that we are goners, we continue to believe in our ‘duty’ to hang on, with cuticle-wrenching tenacity to the perks and privileges of our posts. We kid ourselves that we must stay because we would be letting people down…”

And does that cover making up lies about political opponents that are being used as terms of abuse towards said opponent by extremists and refusing to retract and apologise for making that statement?
