Saido gone from Stoke - official

Reports of a £2.5m payout are supposedly wide of the mark, and Saido only received a small payout. This is according to a Sentinel journo with connections at the club. What the 'small' payout is, we'll probably never know.

With 3 years left on a 60k/wk contract, that's around £10m taking into account loyalty bonuses and so on, so comparatively £2.5m is quite small!

Was it a mutual decision, or was is a sacking following behaviour, I didn't have time to read the statement in full

The thing with Saido is he did work hard early in his career which got him an England call up and regular goals in the Premier League. At one stage he was a better striker than Harry Kane. It's like he thought he made it so downed tools. It's really unbelievable how bad his career has gone. I don't think he gives a shit about football now.

Unfortunately he thought he'd made it from day one, and the England call-up finished him. 

I bet if he'd been made to eat in a separate canteen and park over the road he'd be at Real Madrid now.
