If he was carrying a knock, he wouldn’t have played today.

I'm a fan of Mikey but, if he is low on confidence, the best thing for him, and the team, to do is keep things simple. Pass the ball and run for the return pass. Let the ball do the work, as the saying goes.

Agree. But he’s used to being the man. Making stuff happen and creating goals. You don’t do that with keeping it simple.

On a hiding to nothing today, constantly doubled up on because his fullback (not Gilchrist's fault by the way) couldn't play on the overlap.

My opinion is that he could/can be very effective BUT the reality is
That he can often be our own biggest Achilles heel and threat as most of the clearer
Chances come from his ineffectiveness and errors……

Undoubtedly, may have had a few drinks as well. Clearly he is a good player and one of the very few in our team who gets fans off their seats. Away from home I don’t think he has played well since Cov. That may well be down to the system we play or the fact teams double up on him. If it’s the latter we need as a team to be making better use of that.

One of our better players, but was terrible yesterday.

It's wingers though isn't it, come in and out of form. He'll come good.

In the last few games he definitely looks distracted and has been at fault for a number of misplaced passes, some of which have led to goals against. I now worry every time I see him receive the ball in our half as he is either knocked off the ball far to easily or misplaces passes to team mates. He has been a real attacking threat for us over the past couple of seasons but at the moment he seems to be a luxury I'm not sure we can afford due to the lack of creativity in our centre of midfield to release him in more advanced areas where he seems to do his best work. Currently we are after real agricultural performances to grind out results and therefore I can see the temptation to leave him on the bench to make an impact later against tired legs and minds.

He is and has been suffering from pubis muscle problem, which apparently is very painful, causing pain in the groin and lower abdomen. The only cure is rest and physiotherapy, but at present he is only getting one of the two, hopefully we will get some other players back sooner rather than later and he can get back to his best.
