Dealing with a conspiracy theorist advice

I’ve a brother who has gone batshit crazy as a conspiracy theorist. 
Met him last night. All on about the illuminati controlling the world and that Donald Trump is a decent bloke.
This lad used to be ok, but now he’s typical in that he rolls his eyes if you aren’t on the same page is permanently angry and completely bonkers. 
He’s a 56 year old bloke who hadn’t read a book since he did his school exams, but done ok work wise as a builder.
I found him a condescending cunt but managed to bite my tongue. 
I’d suspected for a while he’d gone down this path, but just wondering if any of you have any advice other than stay away from him?

No amount of evidence will ever convince an idiot - see Brexit 10 years on and those that still believe it's a good thing.

Arf, I think the majority of them have realised it was a mistake. It was a protest vote that they didn’t expect to happen in a lot of cases, others have simply changed their minds and a number aren’t with us any more.

If you had a vote to rejoin tomorrow I suspect it would be in favour by a decent amount.

According to the last poll I can find- Europe wouldn't want us back if we wanted to keep the pound and other exclusions and we wouldn't vote to rejoin unless we could keep the pound and exclusions and we would vote to stay out. Not sure if there are later polls

Everyone I know who voted Leave can now express that they don’t really know why they did but also still hold similarly deluded views in other areas.

As MITCS says unfortunately he’s probably too far gone, as turning it around means a total deconstruct of self. It’s not impossible, just very rare.

I was using Brexit as an example.
Maybe PP you can just try and keep the relationship up as a brother somehow.

Sometimes you do have to just ignore it. I’ve got a mate who went full Brexit and gets very agitated at the mention of anything Labour, we just talk about the kids and holidays and any time he starts on a rant I smile and change the subject. Any changing of opinions for someone who has gone full Vapor trails, pizzagate and lizards needs to be nudged in the right direction for them to find out for themselves.
