I’ve a brother who has gone batshit crazy as a conspiracy theorist.
Met him last night. All on about the illuminati controlling the world and that Donald Trump is a decent bloke.
This lad used to be ok, but now he’s typical in that he rolls his eyes if you aren’t on the same page is permanently angry and completely bonkers.
He’s a 56 year old bloke who hadn’t read a book since he did his school exams, but done ok work wise as a builder.
I found him a condescending cunt but managed to bite my tongue.
I’d suspected for a while he’d gone down this path, but just wondering if any of you have any advice other than stay away from him?

Like all cultists, I am afraid he is too far gone.
No amount of evidence will ever convince an idiot - see Brexit 10 years on and those that still believe it's a good thing.
Sorry I can't be more constructive but I think that the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze.

Do you think that all of those people who voted to leave the European Union and would still do should be sent to re-education camps?

Everyone I know who voted Leave can now express that they don’t really know why they did but also still hold similarly deluded views in other areas.
As MITCS says unfortunately he’s probably too far gone, as turning it around means a total deconstruct of self. It’s not impossible, just very rare.

I was using Brexit as an example.
Maybe PP you can just try and keep the relationship up as a brother somehow.
You will just have to do more to tongue biting.

Sometimes you do have to just ignore it. I’ve got a mate who went full Brexit and gets very agitated at the mention of anything Labour, we just talk about the kids and holidays and any time he starts on a rant I smile and change the subject. Any changing of opinions for someone who has gone full Vapor trails, pizzagate and lizards needs to be nudged in the right direction for them to find out for themselves.

Monumental failure of statecraft ay it.
But it is amazing that people can be so far gone into the cult that reason and facts dont mean anything if it doesn't suit their agenda. Also very telling is the age of PP's brother. And the constant anger they have about everything. Typical of the demographic.
Yet it is leftist wokers who are supposed to be snowflakes.
