It’s a baffling stance for her to take, can only assume the abuse she has suffered has affected her judgement somewhat.

She's thick as mince, any opinion of her has to start there.

What did she say Rich?

Caps don’t win automatic work and they don’t make a brilliant pundit either. The way you communicate, articulate yourself, do your research, inform your audience, how likeable you are and the chemistry you have with your panel are what makes a brilliant pundit.

“The women’s game should be by women for women,” is one of the most damaging phrases I’ve heard. It will not only drag women’s sport backwards, it will drag women’s punditry in all forms of the game backwards.

If you want to grow something, you don’t gate keep it. We want to encourage little boys and men to watch women’s football too, not just little girls and women. And when they see someone like Ian Wright taking it as seriously as he does - they follow suit. That’s how you grow a sport."

Can't argue with any of that.

At a time when we are seeing more female commentators and pundits in the men's game trying to gatekeep the women's game to women only will only result in a similar push back in the men's.

Indeed - I’m sure there’d be very few arguments from male supporters that they’d be more than happy for all male coaches, commentators, officials and administrators to be removed from the women’s game in return for all women to leave the men’s game…

Dragging Ian Wright's name through the mud is particularly disgraceful.

Probably because of the vitriol she’s received over the years.

Anyone else find that women are held to different standards of public conduct, than men?

Yawn!

At least you haven't mentioned her race. Thank god Ian Wright is also black.

The joy of identity politics.

I think she's stupid, but I guess you will think that's due to me having white male privilege.

Yeah because no-one takes the piss out of other pundits or the standard of said pundit, do they?
