I wasn't commenting on the lawfulness of shooting someone based on hearing a shot, just that it provides some additional context as to why it happened (as opposed to they just decided to shoot him because they are evil).

I'm completely open to the possibility that the entire episode in Minnesota is solely to force a political crisis.

Not got a dog in the fight, just trying to be objective.

My main observation is that both 'sides' in the US have not enforced immigration law for decades, and whatever you think of him, Trump was elected on a platform of enforcing immigration law, so presumably a significant % of the US population want that too.

I can understand people objecting to the method employed, in which case I'd ask what the proposed alternative is?

If people are objecting to the policy outright, then there's a fundamental problem, as politically that's not how it works in the US and as mentioned before it starts to look a lot like the run up to their civil war (personally I don't think it'll come to that, he's doing too much other mad stuff to retain credibility with a sufficient % of the population sufficient for them to risk dying for him).

Fair comment and clears up the ambiguity around the 'legit' comment (which I think is what most people, included myself, reacted to).

As for a proposed alternative I have no actual solutions (it's not my job to), except to say that it should involve legitimate federal agencies and not involve summary executions without any due processĀ of individuals in the street.

"During his first administration President Obama deported more people per day than Trump. But he did so without generating a huge public backlash."

Smacks of incompetent 'style' over substance.

Probably because he wasn't sending sending private armies onto the streets to attack innocent civilians.

An Internet pal of many years from Oklahoma (ex millitary) has just told me the new nickname for Chump. They're calling him Pussy McBonespurs. Their disgust in his comments on the allies has boiled their piss. His MAGA followers are also pissed off with his getting involved in more foreign troubles.

The midterms are going to be a disaster for him - pissing everyone off. Seems to have taken a nosedive after Netanyahu paid a visit and suddenly the Epstein files were off the menu. Funny that...

Also, whilst not commenting on the legality of shooting that nurse in the street, there's a few videos emerged of him brawling with ICE / kicking out the lights on their cars in the days running up to his death. Seems the run-in wasn't an isolated incident.

Definitely worth shooting him 10 times whilst unarmed then. A few AI videos should provide all the justification needed

That was neither stated nor implied.
