It’s been a bugbear of the Telegraph readership for a while now. To ‘Outraged of Saffron Walden’ it’s not a new thing.
But isn’t it just kicking shit down the road? One would have thought - a little like the midterms in the US - surely sometimes it is better to endure your blows early and have time to regroup. I think this optic works against them twice in that respect, and they’re hardly getting much good press for what isn’t going wrong.

Id imagine very few people care or notice and those that do will have an impact of zero on outcomes for said party

Councillors avoiding defeat so they can pick up another year of allowances? How little we seem to value democracy, eh? No wonder politicians treat us with contempt.

Telegraph readers are Daily Mail readers who speak a bit posher. That paper has gone from being decent to being a shitrag over the past 15 years. Very sad to see

When the Baggies play bad, the bad reports on the game in newspapers aren't to blame

Only occasionally read that rag when I pop into my old dear’s and she begins repeating herself, and it truly is now a right-wing tabloid dressed in broadsheet clothing. It does use bigger words, though.

Pretty much what we’ve seen continually for years now, and not limited to one party
