It’ll be a very wet rainy wash out.

No snow to report.

What has happened to the Crown and Sandys? Used to be packed - quite good if a bit over-priced. I went recently and there was no-one in and they were trying to get us out the door by 8pm. (The food wasn't great either)

It was, but it was more the acceptance of the staff that it was a bit crap - almost apologetic. Is next door any better? Ombersley used to be a good place to eat when I came back to the Midlands. Always liked the village. Rural, but close to things if you needed them.

Kings Arms (Next door but one) is much better. If you want to be spoilt book the Venture Inn but take your lottery win to pay the bill.
They all like to close early if not enough customers.
The celebs use the Kings Arms.
Sunday carvery - Ombersley Golf Club the place to go.

Thanks, would never have thought to try the golf club. I'll give it a go next time I'm there.

The Venture Inn lunch is especially expensive - it would have to be good. I could get a top London or LA lunch prix fixe for that. (Mind you, I'm always shocked how much 'standard' pub food is in the UK. Especially outside London, where you can kind of understand it.)
