The Ashes

No chance of a declaration. They've got their foot on our jugular, they won't take it off. They'll grind us right into the ground. They're clinical, they don't let teams back into the match like we consistently do.

Boland has faced 50 balls. Barring Root and Crawley no one else faced that many from ours.

That tells you all you need to know. No backbone, no willingness to bat time, no fight, no intelligence. Just a pathetic reckless attitude with the bat.

I dunno Josh, we make 450 here and all of a sudden its game on again.

There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't. The pitch looks dead.

Right on cue Duckett gives Australia a chance with a ridiculous shot.

WTF is wrong with these players? It's inexcusable.

We were 30 off 4 overs what's the bloody rush

Plain sailing for the openers.

Crawley played two glorious shots off Starc just now. And went for another boomin drive and almost nicked off.

They just can't help themselves. Two occasions now we've nearly gifted Australia a wicket through two needless and poor shots.

It's a very good start run rate wise, but you can tell lessons haven't been learnt. We need to bat time and long to save this Test.

And then Duckett chips one up and luckily it drops short of the fielder.

The pitch is doing nothing. The bowling isn't particularly dangerous, and yet we're still finding ways to give them chances.

It's about time players were paid by the day rather than the whole match. They'll soon learn how to bat time then.

Maybe a lesson to be learnt from the Windies v New Zealand match. Epic performance by the tourists.

At least that wicket wasn't given away. I can accept that.

Let's see if we can dig in and show some backbone and fight. I have my doubts, but hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised.

Crawley really is brain-dead. Playing the most ridiculous shots to play in the situation. I know he's got boundaries, but that's not what we fucking need right now. It's stupidity. Nearly edged a Starc delivery.

SEE STARC OFF BY BATTING SENSIBLY FFS!

How hard is it to bat with an ounce of common sense?

Two flashes by Pope, got away with both poor shots. Very, very lucky.

I just can't get my ahead around why we're batting like this. Runs are there to be had. It's a flat pitch. We don't need to be playing so aggressively and chancing our arm.

And there's the wicket that was just waiting to happen. Absolutely pathetic from Pope. He had his warning. TWICE.

What an absolute brain-dead prick.

This England team's stupidity knows no bounds.

I wouldn't go that far. I want to see us bat out this innings as long as possible, to show fight, and some sensible Test cricket.

I don't hold out much hope. I do hope we can at least bat out most of tomorrow, which shouldn't be too difficult on this pitch. The draw is there to be saved. Do we have the intelligence and mentality.

Oh well, that's that fucked. Crawley with another pathetic drive.

I'm not surprised, and I'm beyond the point of getting angry. It's just to be expected now. No fight, no intention of protecting our wickets. Just a shit show of batting as per.

I despise this arrogant England side. Has there ever been such a dislikeable Test team as we have the displeasure of watching right now?
